AIW Coach Dr. Laura Lang

On March 6, 2018, AIW Coach Dr. Laura Lang presented at the Literacy Instructional Specialists Network (LISN) meeting in Cudahy, WI. LISN a non-profit networking group that supports literacy instruction, interventionists, and coaches at the secondary level. This group has a rich history of providing professional learning on a variety of literacy topics identified by its group members.

Dr. Lang’s presentation, Empowering Coaches & Teachers: Using the Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) Framework with Interdisciplinary Teams, focused on utilizing AIW as a tool for instructional coaches. She asked participants to consider the different models of coaching that exist within their school and the beliefs about teaching and learning that are embedded within those programs. Dr. Lang then discussed her approach to coaching as an AIW coach.
